Discover Education at Illinois Event

Discover Education at Illinois Event Attention all prospective education majors!!! Photo from Giphy.com The College of Education is having an event that is a must-go-to for all interested in education! It is called Discover  Education at Illinois, and will be taking place Monday, October 10th from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Students will spend the earlier part of the event at an Orange and Blue day, which is run  by the University. It gives prospective students a more detailed look into life on campus with an admissions presentation, housing information sessions, and academic department sessions. For more information on Orange and Blue Days, or other visiting opportunities, visit the University of Illinois Admissions page. Following the Orange and Blue Day activities, prospective education students are welcomed to the Discover Education at Illinois event. Here, students will have the opportunity to talk to current students, alum, and staff. Plus, free lunch!! After lunch, the attendees will go to a series of discovery sessions. These sessions will specialize in specific majors, including the new Middle Grades Education and Learning and Educational Studies Majors. Additionally, the attendees will have the opportunity to attend EDUC 101, an undergraduate course offered every fall semester. And while this event may seem catered to high school seniors, the education department invites all high schoolers that are considering the University of Illinois. As a current student in the College of Education, I would like to express my personal recommendation that anyone  interested  attend this event. You will be given  insight for how the College of Education strives for success for each and every student. While both informative and valuable, this will also grant a great opportunity to meet the staff and students that will soon become your family; that is the best part about the College of Education at this universityâ€"it is a home away from home.  I can personally say that this university, and specifically the College of Education, has helped me grown tremendously in my short time here thus far, and I am excited for the future as a College of Ed. student.
